Han Nefkens: The Initiator

The Barcelona-based Dutch Contemporary art collector Han Nefkens, 65, calls himself an “initiator,” who doesn’t buy art for himself, but rather works with museums to find art that fits their collections, and then buys it for them. For the past few years his foundation, H+F Collection, has focused exclusively on supporting the creation and exhibition of video art. Nina Siegal caught up with him in Seoul, while he was meeting with a jury that would decide the winner of the Buk SeMA Korean Video Art Production Award, one of the many awards granted by his foundation.
