Connecting people through art 

Co-commissioned by Biennale Matter of Art and BredaPhoto Festival, co-produced by the Han Nefkens Foundation, and supported by the Mondriaan Fund.

Shot on Super 8mm, Noor Abed’s we walk in our sleep (25 min) acts as a portal to a liminal space where the dead and the living converge, exchange thoughts, and wander within an often invisible realm. Structured around two women’s monologues, the film anchors language as a site of rupture and agency. Navigating the intersection of the sacred and the modern in Palestine, the work combines everyday scenes with choreographic collective formations rooted in ancient movement practices.

The 12th edition of BredaPhoto Festival, titled Our Songs Came Through, brings together stories of comfort, resilience, and hope.
