Connecting people through art 

We are delighted to share that Hao Jingban is featured in the upcoming collection exhibition at Singapore Art Museum: SAMCollection: The Present is Unstable an exhibition considered as something fluid and constantly changing. Works from the Collection will be brought in and out over time, placed in new relationships, and activated through talks, tours, and public programmes. In whichever configuration you encounter the Collection, it asks that we begin with one question: what is the work trying to say, and how might it matter today?

Central to this dynamic presentation is the video installation I Witness by Hao Jingban. The work was produced as a result of Hao Jingban winning the moving image commission co-organized by the Han Nefkens Foundation, Mori Art Museum, M+ (Hong Kong), and Singapore Art Museum. Centered on grief and how difficult it can be to express, I Witness explores the memories of people who have lost someone close to them, illuminating the quiet and private ways mourning often unfolds.
