Moving Image Commission 2021 ‘aims to strengthen the relations among the institutions’

The Han Nefkens Foundation, Mori Art Museum (Tokyo), M+ (Hong Kong) and Singapore Art Museum have announced their partnership in establishing a new art prize.

Focusing on moving image, the prize of USD $100,000 will be given to an artist or artist collective of Asian origin, nationality or living in Asia, aged 35 and above. This year’s winner will be announced in early October, whereupon they will have 18 months to complete the newly commissioned work, which will then be shown at each of the partner institutions.

The winner will be chosen by a jury composed of the museums’ directors: Kataoka Mami (Mori Art Museum), Suhanya Raffel (M+) and Eugene Tan (Singapore Art Museum). The jury will be chaired by Han Nefkens.
