The Han Nefkens Foundation is glad to announce the participation of artists Aziz Hazara and Erkan Özgen in the 22nd Biennale of Sydney: NIRIN, presenting several productions by the Han Nefkens Foundation.
Among them, Bow Echo and Monument by Aziz Hazara will be presented for the first time to the public, selected by Brook Andrew, Artistic Director of the 22nd Biennale of Sydney, and will be launched at the exhibition on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
The 22nd Biennale of Sydney exhibition is open free to the public from 14 March until 8 June 2020 at six sites in Sydney: Art Gallery of New South Wales, Artspace, Campbelltown Arts Centre, Cockatoo Island, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and the National Art School.

The Biennale of Sydney is the pre-eminent and longest-running biennial in the Asia Pacific region. Since its inception in 1973, it has provided a platform for art and ideas, showcasing the work of over 1,800 artists from more than 100 countries. Today it is considered one of the leading international art events, recognised for commissioning and presenting innovative, thought-provoking art from Australia and around the world.
Meaning edge, NIRIN is a word of Brook’s mother’s Nation, the Wiradjuri people of western New South Wales. NIRIN is a world of endless interconnected centres; a space to gather and to share, to rejoice, disrupt, and re-imagine. Through their own interpretations and experiences, more than 100 artists from around the world will be inspired by, and reflect on, the world today, challenging dominant narratives and proposing exciting new futurisms and paths to healing.
