The idea behind the film, Heavy Metal Honey,  was inspired by a real event in which a friend witnessed a mistress’ (mother’s) outspoken flow of consciousness during the distress in the course of her death. The film is about the psychic demands that are produced whilst dying, when the human psyche is free from intellectual restrictions, beyond any good or bad, kindness or evilness.

Heavy Metal Honey  is an attempt to shape a dramaturgical narration by translating the flow of pure consciousness into structured sequences, and tries to communicate the deeper psychological connections within a family's structure shaping the individual realities or imaginations they dwell in.

As Susan Kleine writes, “Vajiko Chachkhiani is a (story-) teller. And a very sensitive observer. His works touch us in a way that is hard to define – maybe because they concern us directly and subtly hint to something or bring something to the fore that lies within us, that also touches us emotionally and psychologically.”
